David
Pryor reported, “As of late Friday July 23, 2010 there
were no terns at the colony. Holly and Peter Fuhrer visited
the same day as the morning monitor egg collection. We counted
a few adults and fledglings in the morning and by evening-they
were all gone”.
On 7/24/2010 Kathie Curtiss reported, “There were two
terns still feeding fledglings inside the preserve as I saw
one go to catch a fish and another come toward me and circle
around, then go back inside the preserve”.
So, I guess the last few were around for short times those
days.

BBQ:
We’ve usually held our BBQ picnic, slide show and awards
get together the Wednesday before Labor Day. So, let’s
not break tradition and get together on Wednesday August 25,
2010. Meet at the Huntington State Beach Lifeguard HQ at Magnolia
and Pacific Coast Highway, 5:30 PM. Bring something you want
to BBQ, something to drink, your own plates and utensils and
something to share, either a dessert or salad, your choice.
No alcohol at State Beaches.
Please let me know if you will be attending and what type
of dish you will be bringing, by replying to this email. You
may bring a guest.
Thanks!
