Hi
guys,
Here are the numbers from today, Friday 6/18/2010:
Nests to date: 425
New nests (today): 1
Chicks in nest (this week): 20
Chicks outside nests (today): 137
Fledglings (today): 4
Dead chicks (today): 2
One of the volunteers this morning witnessed the Kestrel take
a chick from the front yard, so he's still around (she called
Wally right away). There was also a decapitated Elegant Tern
inside the preserve. On a good note, we are starting to see
some fledglings!
Attached are a few pics of the "big chicks"
Have a great weekend,
—
Cyndie :) |
