Welcome
new and returning volunteers for the Snowy Plover/Least Tern
Monitoring Project for 2010 This is our 6th year of monitoring
the Least Tern Natural Preserve at Huntington State Beach.
Just a few things:
1. I’ve attached the Shift Grid including those who
signed up last night. Please let me know if I’ve made
any errors or you need to change or add a shift.
2. Nancy Kenyon, our volunteer and webmaster for Sea and Sage
Audubon has done a wonderful job of creating a special section
in their website for our project. There are photos, information
and communications, for each of our five past seasons, and
she will continue to help us again this year. You may use
this site to view all communications, and get other general
information about the project and the birds. See the links
below.
3. Please take a look at the 2009 Slide Show (link is below)
when you have a chance. There are some great photos in the
presentation and well as information about the program, history
of the preserve, and the birds.
4. Please take photos of the birds and other people, monitors,
predators, anything interesting at the site and send them
to me. I would love to add some of your photos for the 2010
slide show.

and some beautiful photos of the birds taken by some of our
monitors and local photographers.
The Terns and Plovers Thank You!!!
Any questions? Please let me know.
