Comments:
So
far we have only found a few dead chicks. However, we did
see 2 kestrels on Friday (from about 11:00 a.m. to 11:45
a.m.). . .
they swooped in on the colony
a few times and landed on the ground. It appeared as though
one of them may have taken a chick (it was difficult to
tell). We notified Wally & David immediately. The kestrels
were hanging out on the telephone poles on the other side
of PCH as well as the fencing around the Preserve.
We are comtinuing to see some new nests, and there are lots
of chicks running around! There are a few chicks in the
front yard area that actually look quite large already.
Have a great week
—Cyndie
