The
Sea & Sage Library of Nature Slides & How to Order
Them |
| . |
| Attached to this
section of the web page is the 2003 catalog of the Sea &
Sage Audubon Society's Library of Nature Slides. Since
the 1997 catalog was published, we have added about 5000 new
slides, thanks especially to the efforts of James R. Gallagher,
who is personally responsible for most of our best slides.
We now have over 18,000 slides, representing 604 species of
birds and 125 species of mammals, reptiles and amphibians. |
| . |
| Because of the
large number of slides in the Library, we are unable to give
specific information about each slide in this catalog. Please
feel free to ask for more information about any subject before
ordering. Better yet, make an appointment to come and look
at the slides. Questions should be directed to Sylvia R. Gallagher,
21562 Kaneohe Ln., Huntington Beach, CA 92646; phone (714)
962-8990. Since she is sometimes away for extended periods,
if you do not get a response within ten days, call or write
directly to Sea and Sage, P.O. Box 5447, Irvine, CA 92616-5447;
phone (949) 261-7963. Orders usually take 4 to 6 weeks to
fill. Initial correspondence could add an extra 2 weeks. Rush
orders cannot be filled. If you need slides in a hurry, consider
borrowing from our lending library. (Select the Slides for
Loan links on this page.) |
| . |
| If you are unable
to come and look at the slides, we will be happy to select
appropriate slides for your purposes. Consider first the nature
of the intended audience. Some slides are better for
showing particular field marks, while others may be more pleasing
aesthetically and thus better for a general audience. |
| . |
| Then describe
specific plumages (subspecies, color morph, age, sex, season,
etc.), field marks, poses, activities, habitats, behaviors,
or anything else you consider important. For each species
we'll select the slide(s) which come closest to your needs.
If you do not fill in this information, expect to receive
a picture of the bird (or animal) in the most colorful plumage,
the most typical habitat, and the position which portrays
the largest number of characteristic field marks that we have
in our collection. |
| . |
| If you are looking
for particular features or behaviors, but are not particular
about the species exhibiting them, those requests can also
be filled. |
| . |
| Sea & Sage
is unlike other slide sources in that OUR PRICES ARE LOW AND
WE DO NOT CHARGE EXTRA FOR SPECIAL REQUESTS. In fact we encourage
you to be as specific as you can about your needs. |
| . |
| Our slide library
is constantly being enlarged. We invite inquiries about subjects
not listed in the catalog. |
| . |
| Sea & Sage
is grateful to the the photographers (over 50) who either
donated or allowed us to duplicate their slides for this collection.
Each slide bears the photographer's identification. Growth
and maintenance of the Library depend on contributions, both
financial and in the form of top quality slides. Your help
will be greatly appreciated. All proceeds support the conservation
and education activities of Sea & Sage Audubon. |
| . |
| The Catalog of
